Matthew Bassett

Mr. Bassett is a Health & Fitness teacher in West Covina Unified School District. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly Pomona and a single subject teaching credential in physical education. He teaches elementary and middle school physical education at San Jose Edison Academy in West Covina.

Professionally, he is a member of the California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) and a member of the Early Childhood and Elementary Physical Education Section of CAHPERD working to develop high quality physical education for preschool and elementary students in California.


Jennifer Mettler

Ms. Mettler is a physical education teacher at Alice C. Stelle Middle School in Calabasas, CA. Her school was awarded the 2008 California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) Middle School Program of the Year. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical education and also received a master’s degree in exercise physiology at California State University, Chico. Ms. Mettler is a professional member of CAHPHERD and the American Aliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). She has presented a state and regional conferences for CAHPHERD.


John Kruse

As a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District, Mr. Kruse teaches middle school physical education at South Gate Middle School.

He holds a degree in kinesiology, with an emphasis in exercise science and a master’s degree in special education. He is a member of the California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD), the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), and also project manager of Project NorthReach. Project NorthReach is a California subject matter project for health and physical education.
